Codec and Flexor

Codec & Flexor started out with their first common maxi “Crazy Girls“ in 2001. They delivered the mega hit “Time has changed“ that crossed borders in every respect. They became the avantgarde of electro-pop. Their debut album “Tubed“ was produced together with Christian Morgenstern on his label Forte Rec. in 2002. In the following year they were signed by the american label Emperor Norton Rec. and went on a big tour throughout the USA. Since then Sven Zalac and Matthias Freund have played and sung all over the world, have published various remixes and have finally given their creativity lots of space full of old and new pictures for familiar music.
Now their second album with the unambiguous title “Killermachine“ came out in April 2006 on Kitty-Yo. This title may sound brutal, but it is everything but raw if it comes to the content. It promises what is implied metaphorically by the title: Hits that dance on the thin line between mainstream and club orientated electro-pop without ever loosing their balance. It is by no means off-beat to say that new wave left some traces.

This album is not afraid of references to Depeche Mode, Human League or even Gary Numan within the context of todays electronic pop music. “Do what you want“ climbs out of the depth with an electro–bassline that makes you sweat and develops to the ultimate club hit. It was pre-released in March 2006 with some top-class remixes as the first 12“ on the clubable Kitty-Cuts 12“-series. In January “I’ll be gone“ will be released on the Kitty-Yo Compilation “Cuts & Pieces“. Another hightlight is the electro- pop number “Surface of sorrow“. It is dedicated to the late Christian Morgenstern and draws the cold from the sorrow with warm vocals and electro-synthie surfaces and immortalizes his memory. With “Killermachine“ Codec & Flexor deliver several songs of the kind that guaranteed a live experience since spring 2006 and sets fire to the clubs and festivals. Elecro-pop big style… the tour is going on and we are looking forward to what the summer may bring…

LABEL INFO: BODY FUNCTION

The Label is concerning between the different poles of energetic Techno music, whether it is Electro-House, Neo-Trance or Minimal, with the only stringent common ground of maximum energic density. They try to give artists a home, whose ardor for Techno is expressing itself in euphoric tracks that make you feel the artists soul and passion in every single grain of the sound. They agree on our definition of Techno: Deepness, soul and uncomparable moments full of euphoria. To give back the idea of Rave, in contrast to the inherent cliché of arbitrariness and triviality, its original intention: The restlessness of the night. And to make it what it means to them again: The soundtrack of our lifes. And what Body Function means to them after all: The love for the music that runs through their veins and that keeps them moving on and on and…
