Dubbed the “Queen of Drum’n’Bass” in China; Siesta’s passion for collecting records dated back in 1999, when she started out as the only promoter putting on a series of world-class drum’n’bass parties in HK.
2005 saw the rise of drum’n'bass in Shanghai and her new collective “PHREAKTION” played a crucial part of making it happen. The new and improved Phreaktion crew was set up in late 2005 and since then, she has brought pretty much all of the biggest drum’n'bass icons to China such as Andy C, Roni Size, Goldie, Fabio, Marky, Pendulum, Scratch Perverts, LTJ Bukem, London Elektricity, and to name a few. In just 5 years, Siesta has successfully put Shanghai on the international drum’n’bass map, putting on more than 60 world-class drum’n’bass nights, as well as earning herself the reputation of being one of the best drum’n’bass DJs in China.
DJ Siesta is best known for her funky, soulful, dancefloor set. With an extensive experience as a drum’n’bass promoter/DJ in Asia, she has developed a fine crowd-reading skill that allows her to play exactly what the crowd wants to hear. For a relatively young DJ, Siesta’s shown a lot of prospect and without a doubt is transforming into an iconic figure in Shanghai.
2008 sees Siesta branching out and she is to be seen dj’ing in Seoul, London, Brighton, Barcelona, Madrid, Tokyo and Australia. Don’t sleep!
从香港崛起的Siesta至今仍被称为当地Drum’n’Bass女皇。1999年的时候，是香港唯一一个推动Drum’n’Bass派对的人。在99-02年之间举办了超过35场大大小小的鼓打贝斯活动。在小休9个月后，2002年底她再以Phreaktion的名义重新出发，并开始成为其驻场DJ，以一位相对年轻的DJ，DJ Siesta凭其对鼓打贝斯音乐的熟知及场地气氛酝酿的把握，很快地成为香港家喻户晓的DJ。
2005年底Siesta将她的热情带入上海，在短短1年后便使得鼓打贝斯音乐由地下冒出，成为上海club scene里不可或缺的一种音乐形式，而Phreaktion现在更成为上海主要的派对主办单位之一。人们在每个月都可以在主要的派对场所中看到Siesta的踪影，将派对舞池的气氛炒得热翻天。纯熟和迅速的打碟技巧使得她毫无疑问的成为上海最重要DJ之一。
